Solving Problems During Assembling The Scrap Chopper Of Baosteel C302


On September 23, the scrap chopper of Baosteel C302 unit encountered the problem that the main transmission gear pair could not eliminate the gear clearance during the assembly process.  The early solution was to adopt the helical gear axial gasket adjustment method to eliminate the clearance. By changing the thickness of the adjustment gasket, the helix of the two thin gears was misplaced, so that the left and right tooth surfaces of the two thin gears were close to the left and right tooth surfaces of the wide gear grooves respectively, so as to achieve the purpose of eliminating the clearance.

 

However, after many times of bearing repair and grinding of the adjusting gasket, the gear clearance still cannot be eliminated.  As the main transmission gear pair is a key part of the whole equipment, the company's relevant departments attached great importance to it.  In the evening, all the experienced experts and colleagues gathered together to solve the problem.

After nearly three hours of testing and analysis, the problems were eliminated one by one. Finally, the cause was found, that is, the connecting keyway of the two thin gears was not processed in place, leading to a too large gap between the keys and the keyway, and the two thin gears were relatively loose.  After the problem was found, the keyway width was tested on the spot, new drawings were designed and manufactured overnight, and the problem was finally solved.


The smoothly solution to the problem once again reflects that quick response and sincerely cooperation have become the working habits of BOYA people!
